This page explains when the balance on a virtual card bought from BuyCryptoCard can be paid back to you, how the payout is calculated and how to ask for it. It forms part of our Terms of Service. Every amount and percentage below is read from the live settings of our system, so it always agrees with what your dashboard shows.
1. The short version
- Only card balance is ever returned. The issuance fee, the load fee and any cost charged by a third party stay non-refundable in every case.
- A card that was never charged gets its entire balance back, with nothing deducted.
- A card that has been charged qualifies only while $500.00 or more remains on it. We then close the card and pay out the remaining balance after a 10% commission.
- Every request is looked at by a team member, and we make the final call.
2. What makes a card "used"
We treat a card as used from the moment any merchant charges it — a purchase, a subscription, a pre-authorization or a tiny verification charge all count, even if the merchant later reverses it. Our records and the issuer's records decide this question.
Simply opening the card in your dashboard, copying its details or saving it with a merchant, without any charge taking place, leaves the card unused.
3. Getting back the balance of an unused card
Ask for a refund of a never-charged card and the whole balance is paid back, with no commission. Once the payout has been sent, the card is permanently closed.
Example: you ordered a card holding $100 and changed your mind before using it. You get $100 back. What you paid at checkout for the issuance fee and the load fee is not part of the refund.
4. Getting back a large balance from a used card
Once a card has been used, it is normally yours to spend down. The one exception is a card that still holds $500.00 or more. In that situation you may ask us to close the card and pay out what is left, after a 10% commission calculated on the remaining balance.
Example with a 10% commission: $800 remains on a used card. The commission comes to $80, so $720 is paid to you, and the card is closed at the same time.
A used card with less than $500.00 on it does not qualify. Its balance stays spendable until the card's expiry date.
5. What is never paid back
Even when we approve a balance refund, these amounts are not returned:
- the issuance fee charged for each card (currently $5.00);
- the load fee (currently 15% of the balance);
- blockchain network fees, exchange withdrawal fees and any other charge made by a third party;
- the commission described in section 4.
6. How to ask for a refund
- Sign in, open Refunds and choose Request a refund.
- Pick the card. The form says whether it qualifies and estimates the payout: the balance, less any commission.
- Tell us briefly why you want the refund.
- Fill in where the payout goes: the network, plus a wallet address or Pay ID on it. Please check both twice — we cannot pull back a payout sent to details you supplied.
- Submit the form. Its status appears in your dashboard, and we email you once it has been decided.
Only one open request per card is possible at a time.
7. How we review and pay
We confirm the card's usage and remaining balance with the issuer before settling the amount. If the actual figures differ from those shown when you applied, the confirmed payout can differ from the estimate. Most decisions are made within a few business days. Approved refunds are sent in USDT, or by another method we agree with you, to the details you provided, and the payout's transaction ID is added to the request in your dashboard.
8. Money for orders that could not be completed
Sometimes a payment arrives but the order cannot go ahead — most often because less than the full total was received. In that case, open a support ticket with the order reference and any payment or transaction ID from the order page. Once we can identify the funds, we either help you finish the order or return the payment after deducting network or processing costs. A transfer made on a different network, or to any address except the one displayed, may be impossible to recover; we will try in good faith, without promising an outcome.
9. Reasons a refund may be refused or put on hold
- The card is frozen, or is being reviewed for suspected fraud, abuse or a breach of our Terms.
- The card or the account was used for a prohibited purpose, or the original payment is disputed or connected to stolen funds.
- We need more information to confirm your identity or your control of the payout address.
- A law, a court or an authority requires the funds to be held.
